Advent I

This coming Sunday marks the beginning of Advent, a penitential season of expectation and preparation for the coming of Jesus Christ, both in his historical birth in Bethlehem and his future triumphant return in glory.

Introit: Savior of the Nations, Come, NUN KOMM DER HEIDEN HEILAND
Psalm 25, Guimont Psalter
Offertory: O Come, Divine Messiah, VENEZ, DIVIN MESSIE
Communion: Ps. 80, "Lord, make us turn to you," Guimont Psalter
Hymn of Thanksgiving: Come, O Long Expected Jesus, STUTTGART

During the four weeks of Advent the postlude each week will be a different chorale prelude by J. S. Bach found in the Orgelbuchlein. This week the postlude is a setting of NUN KOMM DER HEIDEN HEILAND which is also the Introit Hymn.
