The Inaugural St. Vincent Concert Series!

This fall (actually, beginning this August!) St. Vincent de Paul Church is proud to begin a concert series of instrumental and vocal music. The first concert of the series is Sunday, 7 August 2011, at 7:00pm in the church. Entitled On a Mid-Summer's Eve: chamber music for flute, oboe, and piano, this program will feature Lucy Minichillo, Marilyn Odendahl, and Kevin Vaughn. All of the recitals in the series are offered free-of-charge and the public is welcome. The poster with all four events and their dates and times is below. See you there!

Leon Boellmann


This famous French composer of the late 1800's worked for most of his life at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Paris, first as sub-organist, then cantor, and then titular organist. This beautiful church contains two Cavaille-Coll pipe organs. I feel a Boellmann-inspired recital coming up...

Mass of the Most Sacred Heart

We have received permission from the Bishop of Ft. Wayne-South Bend, the Most Rev. Kevin C. Rhoades, to begin learning and singing music for the Ordinary of the Mass with the new translation of the Roman Missal in September of this year. The first setting our parish will learn is the Mass of the Most Sacred Heart by Jacob Bancks. You may download the music for free and listen to a good recording of this music at Mr. Bancks's website.

Booklets with the music will be in the pews on the first Sunday in September!

The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
